H.E. The Deputy Governor, Dr John Erus, hosted the JICA External Evaluator, Yoshika San, who paid him a courtesy visit to discuss the forthcoming assessment and evaluation of JICA projects in Turkana County.
Dr John Erus stated that both the current and finalised programs will be reviewed to assess their impact on sustainable development.
DG Erus also commended the Embassy of Japan, who are working with the County Government for their innovative frameworks and fostering resilience through projects such as water pans, boreholes, livestock market facilities rehabilitation, agricultural projects, and initiating community income-generating activities.
Yoshika acknowledged the existence of transformative progress in Turkana County through strategic partnerships. She stressed that evaluation assessment aimed to enhance accountability and transparency for decision-makers in Japan.
In attendance were the Director for Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships, Raphael Logum and JICA’s Local Research Assistant, Lokiles Isaiah.
The JICA team then proceeded to meet with the Directorate of Disaster and Risk Management for further deliberations.
