A joint team from the Department of Roads yesterday conducted the final inspection of the Kaikor–Napak Road, confirming completion of the maintenance works and opening the road for public use.

The 50-kilometre road stretches from Nakinomet–Kotome River through Kangatulae, Loitanit, and Lobulono to Napak centre in Kibish Sub-county.

The improved road will enhance access to public institutions and local business centres, easing movement for residents and strengthening connectivity across the area.

During the inspection, the Engineer in Charge of the project, Eng. Jacob Moru Kataboi confirmed that the scope of works which included site clearance and grading has been done to improve the condition and accessibility of the road.

“The road has now met the required minimum maintenance standards and is ready for public use.” he said.

The project was funded through the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF) at a cost of KSh 7.8 million as part of ongoing efforts by the County Government to improve road infrastructure and respond to the needs of local communities.

Among those present during the inspection were; David Epete (Assistant Procurement Officer), Benson Ekidor (Monitoring and Evaluation Officer) and Scout Emmanuel (Assistant Accountant).
