The County Government has distributed ceremonial uniforms to 153 village administrators as part of its commitment to cultivate professionalism through corporate branding.
The village administrators are therefore expected to wear the uniforms during designated official functions and take proper care of them in accordance with government policies.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Administration, Patrick Losike Lokaimoe said that branding the village administrators was part of County’s plan to enhance service delivery at the grassroots.
“You may serve under different government structures alongside your colleagues from the national government, but you all deliver services to the same community. The new ceremonial uniforms will help make you stand out and gain the respect worthy of the important role you play in the county’s structure of administration,” CECM Lokaimoe said.
He urged the administrators to discharge their duties diligently, serve the community with integrity, and work closely with other stakeholders within their respective areas of jurisdiction.
The CECM noted that the ceremonial uniforms are intended to be worn during official government functions, including public holidays, national celebrations, and other special events. He encouraged the administrators to always remain smart and presentable while representing the County Government.
“The County Government will strive to budget for and procure ceremonial uniforms annually so that you can supplement the ones you already have,” he said.
CEC Lokaimoe also challenged the village administrators to champion education within their communities, noting that education remains the most effective pathway to overcoming illiteracy in Turkana County.
County Chief Officer for Administration and Disaster Management, Marian Nakaale Lotieng, commended the village administrators for their dedication and the important role they play in delivering services at the village level.
“There is no job without challenges. You should find ways to navigate them, solve those within your capacity, and continue working towards solutions for the remaining ones,” CCO said.
The CCO also encouraged the administrators to continue representing the County Government professionally and assured them that the department would continue creating opportunities for capacity building and other staff benefits, subject to the availability of funds.
