Turkana Education Child Development (ECD) Board of Management (BOM) members have been urged to harness the potential of School Improvement Plans (SIP) to elevate the standards of centers under their jurisdiction to centers of excellence.
The education consultant, Prof. John N’gasike, delivered the call during the commencement of a three-day training program for BOM members from 39 ECD centers, sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Kenya in Kakuma.
The training aimed to equip participants with insights into best practices, governance frameworks, positive parenting principles, and strategies for ensuring the quality of educational standards.
Representatives from ECD schools serving both refugee and host populations in parts of Turkana West and Turkana North were also in attendance reflecting the inclusive nature of the initiative.
