Officials from International Organization for Migration (IOM) paid a courtesy call on Deputy Governor Dr John Erus at the County Government HQ to brief on their activity on mobility tracking on drought and displacement.
The delegation was led by Head of Kakuma Sub Office Rayees Ahamed.
The activity will help in collecting information on the types of displacement within the county and the captured data will be used as a fundraising tool where the exercise will take a month
During the meeting they briefed on the projects they are working with the county government, Disaster risk reduction project mainly on Gender sensitivity and National shelter strategy and Also the Migration Environment and climate change project which helps in safe and orderly migration
The Deputy Governor lauded the research and termed it timely and critical. He urged IOM to strengthen partnership with the county through joint planning and supervision. He assured the team that the administration was keen to develop a conducive environment for partner organizations.
