GOVERNOR LOMORUKAI ADDRESSES INTERNS, PROMISES TO INCREASE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Lodwar, 1st December 2022 (Governor’s Press Service)— The County Government has announced plans to increase internship opportunities by up to 25% in the public service in subsequent intakes.

This was revealed yesterday by Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai in his address to interns undergoing induction following their six-month recruitment.

“I am aware that the current capacity for internship opportunities is 200. My Government will support an increase in budgetary allocation to raise the number to 500 opportunities for the benefit of the Youth.” Governor Lomorukai said.

The Governor challenged the interns and the youth of Turkana to embrace continuous learning and discipline to achieve personal growth and positive economic change.

The County boss also called upon the Youth to take up vocational training as an alternative route to employment and entrepreneurship instead of overcrowding the “white collar course”.

The meeting was also attended and addressed by County Public Service Board members led by Ag. Chairperson Pauline Ekod and Ag. CEO Raphael Nyasio. Dr. Maj. (Rt) Daniel Ingolan, Edward Losinyono and Erastus Ngala were others.
