CHANGE OF GUARD AT OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, AS NEW CHIEF OFFICER TAKES OFFICE.

Lodwar, 3rd January 2023 (Governor’s Press Service)– A new Chief Officer has taken the helm at the Office of the Governor, with Simon Etom taking over from County Solicitor Ruth Emanikor, who had been acting in the role.

County Secretary Peter Eripete presided over the handover ceremony and wished Etom well in his new role, noting that he had worked in the office before and should therefore have an easy time adapting.

Eripete also highlighted the importance of the Office of the Governor in the implementation of the Governor’s nine-point agenda, specifically concerning peace-building and conflict resolution.

He added that the performance of the new County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and County Chief Officers (CCOs) would be judged on their success in implementing this agenda.

CCO Etom expressed his appreciation to Solicitor Emanikor for her support and stated his readiness to begin work immediately. Emanikor, in turn, offered her support to Etom and wished him all the best in his new role.

The ceremony was witnessed by Senior Staff in the Office- Chief of Staff Peter Yoromoe, Directors Benjamin Tukei (Governor’s Press Service) and Geoffrey Apedor (Peace), Principal Administrator Peterson Erus and Senior Accountant Enock Locham.
