Chief Officer Water Services Simon Etom yesterday chaired a consultative meeting with technical officers in the department to review priority needs for action.
During the meeting, the CO stated that there was need of enhancing productivity of inputs by the technical team for effective provision of water services across the County.
“In order to achieve and provide water in the County, the department intends to involve technical officers on key issues since they have the technical-know-how on primary water issues and needs hence the need to include them even on the budget process.” CO Etom said.
Chief Etom also emphasized on the needy issues of contract management of water projects especially on delays which he said he will push for framework agreements with service working providers on water for easy implementation of water projects in the County.
The Chief Officer further reiterated the need to provide water in the municipality which he said there was need to realign procurement plans of the department to identify priority needs of water provision in the municipality such as drilling and equipping of more boreholes in the municipality.
In an open review session, the CO called on the Sub-County water officers to critically identify gaps and needs in their Sub Counties that will be addressed by the department for effective water services provision across the County.
Director Water Services Tito Ochieng, Technical Officers drawn from Sub counties, Drilling Super Intendant Moses Opuru, Team leader Lowasco Kennedy Omondi, Senior Management team from the department and technical officers from Lowasco attended the consultative meeting.
