ECDE CENTRES RECEIVE ADDITIONAL TEACHERS

The County Department of Education, Sports and Social Protection conducted a three-day induction for the newly employed 75 Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers.

The induction seeks to equip the new teachers with requisite knowledge, training, and information required to do their job with uttermost degree of excellence.

It is further intended to acquaint the teachers with professional ethics and standards at the work place, unlike the theoretical applications during their training.

While addressing the teachers at the induction exercise, the Ag.County Chief Officer for Education and Social Protection, Janerose Tioko, told the ECDE teachers that their employment is in fulfilment of the Governor’s Agenda on education “Revitalization of Education”. This is because of the passion the governor has for education in Turkana that ECDE teachers’ employment has been actualized.

Chief Tioko said, there are challenges that come with being a teacher but you will certainly overcome those challenges propelled by passion for service delivery to our children.

“Be eye-opener to our children, serve them diligently, and your efforts will be rewarded”. She pleaded.

CO tasked the teachers to be innovative and creative and be resource mobilizers for their centres, hence transforming them to centres of excellence. Be role models in society, and this will help you progress in your career.

“Good education can change anyone,a good teacher can change everything” Emphasized the Director for Administration, Jonathan Ekai as he gave a presentation on governance to the teachers.

On the other hand, his counterpart Directorate for ECDE Samuel Eregae warned the teachers on absenteeism at work as that will attract dire consequences.
