COUNTY WATER DEPARTMENT, ISRAAID CONDUCT JOINT GROUND WATER ASSESSMENT.

To support ISRAAID implement its drought response development plans, the county government has partnered with ISRAAID on a learning mission on ground water survey.

A team of specialists from ISRAAID has for the past week conducted underground water survey jointly with the water services team in Kakuma in a bid to develop geographical information and potential fresh water-bearing in the region.

This engagement will enable the County Water Services team strengthen capacities and expand knowledge base on ground water survey, technological dynamics by learning from ISRAAID experts.

The team has employed a combination of electrical resistivity topography (ERT) and seismic surveys on the hydrogeological survey for ground water.

Deputy Director water services Paul Lotum, head of ground water Vivian Asekon and Sub County water officers participated in the joint learning mission which was spearheaded by ISRAAID Country Director Gayle Deighton and survey coordinator Paul Bauman.

Others who participated were, ISRAAID field coordinator Paul Sitati and WASH programme Manager Bosco Mwendwa.
