Turkana County Public Service Board has commenced the interview phase for the recruitment of 38 new ECDE teachers in a bid to boost staffing levels in the learning institutions.
The team of 38 will be picked from 157 candidates who had been selected to compete for the positions following a shortlisting exercise that begun with 601 applicants.
The current recruitment comes less than six months after yet another cohort of 75 qualified individuals had been recruited to serve on permanent and Pensionable terms as entry level ECDE teachers.
The Acting Chair of the Board, Pauline Akiru Ekod warned the interviewees against persons mascarading as representatives of the Board. She urged the team to wait for communication from the Board as all measures had been put in place to make the process free and fair.
The Acting Chair Pauline Ekod added that the Board had integrated County and sub county level ECDE experts into the panel in observance of best practice in teacher recruitment exercise.
It is expected that the one week exercise will be conducted by three panels so as to give candidates sufficient opportunity to express their skills and convince the panel of their suitability.
Board members including Maj.Rtd Dr.Daniel Ingollan, Edward Losinyono, Erastus Ngala, and Von willy Etir formed part of the recruitment teams.
Other than the Board members, the interview exercise was also supported by the Board HR secretariat.
