The Department of Tourism and Culture has engaged various cultural groups in auditions taking place across Turkana County.

The audition consists of cultural groups presenting ‘edong’a, ‘Lodapal’, ‘Naleyo’, ‘ekaro’, and ‘ekimomwor’ in various categories.

Additionally, the teams are also displaying their unique cultural materials as an expression of their different and distinctive lifestyles.

Similarly, try-outs for choirs are also ongoing and are open for all church choirs in the county.

The auditioning team is encouraging more participation from choir groups drawn from different platforms.

The selection for artists is also on the move, conducting trials for artists across all the Sub-counties. The auditions will provide a platform for all artists to showcase their talents in an effort to perform on the County’s big stage.

The selected groups will get the opportunity with other cultural groups, choirs, and artistes for a performance during the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival scheduled from 12th to 14th October 2023.
