ARDHI HOUSE TEAM, COUNTY DELIBERATE ON ADOPTION OF E-REGISTRY

The National Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning and the National Lands Commission paid a courtesy call to the County’s Land Department to find ways to integrate the use of ICT-powered platforms and E-services.
During the call, the discussions revolved around the digitization of land services through the Ardhisasa application as a government intervention to improve service delivery.
The Chief Officer for Lands and Physical Planning
Leah Losiru welcomed the move, describing it as appropriate and timely since Turkana County had already shifted to the digital land registry from the manual one.
She added that the County would benefit from the training of staff on the Ardhi sasa as that would attract revenue for both the County and National Governments.
The Ardhi Team Lead, Mwangangi Wambua, clarified that the training will also be offered to Revenue and ICT Officers alongside staff from the Department, as the three units will be required to work together to realize the intended results.
Wambua explained that the trained officers will be expected to further disseminate the information to service users and the general public through face-to-face interactions, public barazas, and sensitization campaigns.
Vincent Agevi (Community Lands Registrar) and representatives from the National Lands Commission were present.
