CHIEF KOREA TO TEACHERS: EMBRACE SAVING CULTURE, JOIN SACCOS FOR YOUR WELFARE

The Chief Officer for Administration, ECDE and Social Protection, Moses Korea has today told the Turkana ECD teachers to embrace the culture of saving and join SACCOs at an early stage of their employment to improve their welfare.
CCO said this while speaking at the Resource Centre in Lodwar while opening the ECDE Teacher’s Annual Welfare Association meeting.
He reminded them of the commitment of the Governor on his agenda to revitalize education in Turkana County.
Chief Korea emphasized that welfare should comprise a set of programs that should not only support the burial services but also satisfy their needs, as well as provide the capacity to fulfill desired goals.
He noted welfare package should be implemented with the aim of building teacher behavior that promotes commitment to work and enhances personal advancement.
The ECD Chief added that In order to revitalize education, teachers need to be motivated through promotion from time to time to boost the morale of the teachers.
This comes at a time when 121 out of 292 teachers were promoted this month.
During the meeting, the teachers were taken through a digital reporting system ( KOBO TOOL) which is integrated with the smartphones they use in the course of their work.
The KOBO tool helps teachers to be submitting their monthly reports on time from every ECDE Centre across the County.
Those present in the meeting were, Ignatius Erupe ( Principal Administrator), Alice Akiru (ECDE Administrator), and Washington Malala (ICT Officer).
