DG ERUS ASKS IRC TO SUPPORT HEALTH, AS HE COMMISSIONS NEW IRC OFFICES IN LODWAR

The Deputy Governor, Dr John Erus has asked the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to continue supporting the health sector, expressing it as a priority need. He explained the reason why the health component has got prominence in the Governor’s Development Agenda.
He said this while commissioning IRC’s new office block, during which recognized the county’s healthcare needs.
In addition to this, the DG requested support for more additional theatres, bolstering the Lodwar County Referral Hospital (LCRH), and fortifying Level 2 and 3 hospitals.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony to open new offices, not only marked the establishment of a physical space, but also a renewed dedication to fostering impactful partnership between County Government and IRC.
Stressing the importance of coordination and resource mobilization strategies, Dr. Erus reiterated his commitment to facilitating a conducive environment for relational partnerships for more collaborative opportunities.
Similarly, the Country Director for IRC, Mohamed ElMontassir, presented a comprehensive overview of IRC’s programs and their significant impact on improving the livelihoods of the people within the region.
He emphasized the support and robust working relationship between IRC and the County Government, highlighting the strides the Organization has made in enhancing community well-being.
