The County Government, through the Department of Water Services, has formed a five-member committee with two Ex-officio members to oversee the recruitment of the Board of Directors for the Rural and Urban Water Companies.
The Committee will advertise the positions in line with the regulations of the Water Act, 2016, and provisions issued by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB).
Representatives of Water Users Associations from all the 30 Wards, unanimously and by consensus voted for the three members from the community.
The process was facilitated by the Office of the County Attorney, with the guidance of the County Solicitor Ruth Emanikor, and supported by the Director for Legal Services Ekai Nabenyo.
The selection comes at a time when the county has conducted public sensitization to inform the public on the restructuring of water supply management through the operationalization of rural and urban water companies.
Other Senior Government Officials present included; Faith Aletea (CECM Water Services), David Maraka (CCO Water Services), Patrick Imana (Director Administration) Esther Lokitoe (Ag. MD Lowasco).
