The County Chief Officer for Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Janerose Tioko visited the Kakemera micro-irrigation project to observe the vegetable harvest.
This micro-project, allocated to 50 households in Kanamkemer and featuring 27 shadenets, is part of the Drought Resilience and Livelihoods Sustainable Programme (DRSLP), focusing on the commercial production of vegetables.
Accompanied by Sub-county Agricultural Officers, Chief Tioko expressed satisfaction with the farm’s progress.
She assured farmers of plans to build their capacity in modern farming techniques, along with the provision of farm equipment and seeds.
The team also explored Kakwanyang, where the Department is in the process of establishing a model drip irrigation project.
