GOVERNOR LOMORUKAI PLEDGES TO SUPPORT STAFF CAREER GROWTH AS COUNTY PROMOTES 49 ADMINISTRATORS Lodwar, December 21, 2023 (Governor’s Press Service)

Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai presided over the issuance of promotion letters to 49 County Government Administrators (CGAOs) at various levels.
The promotions, including Ward Administrators, Principal Administrators, Deputy Sub County Administrators, and Sub-County Administrators, mark a significant step in career progression for deserving officers.
Governor Lomorukai emphasized the transparent and merit-based nature of the promotions, highlighting adherence to established service and educational criteria outlined in respective schemes of service. The County Public Service Board (CPSB) conducted a vetting process, ensuring fairness and recognition for qualified candidates.
Expressing satisfaction with the outcome, Governor Lomorukai commended the CPSB for their diligence and ensuring all deserving officers had benefited. He further revealed that his administration had allocated a budget to facilitate staff promotions, demonstrating commitment to staff welfare and career development.
The Governor also announced plans to absorb volunteer staff currently supporting Ward and sub-county offices. This move aims to streamline operations and strengthen service delivery at the local level.
Governor Lomorukai urged the promoted administrators to uphold exemplary service standards and dedicate themselves to serving the needs of Turkana residents. He called upon them to prepare for the distribution of relief food in January 2024, prioritizing communities impacted by the prolonged drought and recent flash floods.
County Chief Officer for Administration and Disaster Management Derrick Epae, along with CPSB commissioners Edward Losinyono and Erastus Ngala, were among county officials present at the ceremony.
