TURKANA PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD BENEFITS FROM EACC TRAINING ON GOOD GOVERNANCE

Eldoret, March 15, 2024 (Public Communications and Media Relations)

Turkana Public Service Board members and a section of the secretariat have benefitted from a six-day training on governance organized by The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kenya (EACC).

Acting Chair of the Board, Dr Pauline Akiru said that the training in Eldoret exposed the board to strategies of promoting adoption to ethical standards in the public service, and working institutions mandated to promote adherence to provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.

Coming at a time when the Board is processing forms submitted by the County staff in regard to Declaration of Assets, Income and Liabilities (DIALS), it is expected that the board has been better equipped with skills to handle the process more effectively.

During the training, the EACC North Rift Regional Manager, Charles Rasugu, emphasised the need for customization of existing governance policies for implementation in the County.

Mr. Rasugu urged the Board to be more proactive in combating cases of corruption through training County Staff.
