Residents of Turkana West and Lokichoggio Sub-Counties are set to benefit from Biashara Huduma Centre services at the ward level after the county signed an MoU with the GiZ-led ProSEET project under an initiative dubbed ‘Gava Mashinani’.

In the MoU, Biashara Huduma Centre services, which include business registration, name search, licensing, and compliance documentation, will now be available at various locations starting with Ward Administrators offices in Kakuma, Lokichoggio, Nanam, Songot, Kalobeyei, Letea, Lopur, and Nakalale through mobile outreaches.

The signing of the MoU between the two parties was witnessed by Deputy Governor, Dr. John Erus, at a function in Kakuma.

County Secretary , Peter Eripete, signed on behalf of the county government, while Gertraud Suhren signed for GIZ.

In his speech, the Deputy Governor, Dr. John Erus, said that the mobile services would address the unique challenge of long distances to Kakuma for the service seekers in the expansive sub counties.

“This initiative brings about an important approach to service delivery that directly benefits the grassroot communities targeted to benefit from the initiative,” DG Erus said.

Accompanying the Deputy Governor were the Robert Loyelei-chief officer for trade cooperatives and enterprise development, Mike Ndeto-Biashara Center Manager.

Simon Mwangi- Technical Advisor from GİZ and a representative from the office of the County Attorney.
