The County Directorate of Natural Resources and Wildlife Management received a courtesy call from officials of the Northlands Rangelands Trust (NRT) on their way to Kidepo National Park in Uganda.

The directorate, led by its Director Clement Nadio, outlined its priority areas, including the development of regulatory frameworks such as a wildlife management bill and conservancy regulations for the effective management of the sector.

Governor’s Advisor for Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, Peter Lolem, highlighted Turkana South, Lotikipi, Oropoi and Lokiriama as potential areas where NRT could partner with the County Government for wildlife management.

The NRT team, led by Head of Partnerships, Growth and Innovation, Ian Craig, discussed collaboration opportunities, especially in conservancy establishment and management for community empowerment.
