TURKANA ECDE STAFF TRAINS TO DRIVE SECTOR DIGITIZATION THROUGH EIDU PLATFORM

County Government has rolled out a ten-day training initiative aimed at equipping the ECDE teaching and administrative staff with skills to utilize the EIDU platform. This platform focusses on individualized learning and integration of technology into ECDE to benefit both teachers and students.

The initiative, jointly undertaken with EIDU trainers is expected to revolutionize ECDE services by digitizing data management, program administration, and monitoring.

CECM for Education, Sports and Social Protection, Elizabeth Loote emphasized the critical role of IT empowered staff in achieving the county’s goals of transforming service delivery at the ECDE level of education.

“By mastering the EIDU platform, our ECDE staff will be at the forefront of transforming early childhood education service in Turkana. This system will enable more efficient and transparent management of ECDE programs,” Loote stated.

The EIDU system is an IT enabled e- Platform designed to facilitate easy access to ECDE data, improve the management of educational programs, and enhance monitoring processes by the authorized staff.

According to the CECM, the training aims to ensure that staff can effectively implement and utilize this digital tool as they are the authorized team to undertake the critical role.

Chief Officer for Early Childhood and Social Protection, Moses Korea Etelej, stressed the importance of continuous learning in keeping up with technological advancements.

“As technology evolves, so must our skills. This training is a step towards ensuring you (the staff) are well-equipped to handle the demands of an environment that relies on digital platforms to collect, analyze, report and make decisions for the advancement of ECDE programs,” Chief Officer Etelej said.

Chief Officer Etelej lauded EIDU and other stakeholders in making the initiative possible.

Director of ECDE, Ezekiel Kulal was present along with his Deputy Director, Alice Ejem, and Josephat Angoria, ECDE Administrator.
