DG ERUS REPRESENTS THE COUNTY AT THE NATIONAL CPRM SUMMIT

The Deputy Governor Dr John Erus attended the inaugural National Summit of the County Peer Review Mechanism (CPRM) that was hosted by the NEPAD/ African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Kenya Secretariat in Nairobi.

Turkana County is among the twelve counties pioneering the CPRM including Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kakamega, Nandi, Nyeri, Machakos, Makueni, Mombasa, Trans-Nzoia, Siaya, and Vihiga.

According to the National Governing Council, the CPRM process is a voluntary, governance assessment tool that mirrors the Continental African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and enables counties to identify and address challenges in their governance systems.

Additionally, the CPRM is intended to encourage continuous improvement of county governance and service-delivery performance in a transparent and accountable manner.

DG Erus also joined governors in Nairobi for a consultative meeting on the Draft Fourth Basis for Revenue Sharing among County Governments, hosted by the Commission on Revenue Allocation.

The objective of this meeting was to share the revenues equitably to facilitate service delivery and address economic disparities and promote development.
