The Inspectorate Services unit, responsible for providing civilian security and safeguarding key county government installations, is set to benefit from a comprehensive staff upskilling program and the provision of essential work equipment. Chief Officer for Administration and Disaster Management, David Maraka, has revealed.
The Chief Officer, announced that the initiative aims to revitalize the directorate, enhance its visibility, and empower its staff to deliver more effectively.
“We are committed to overhauling the operations of the directorate. Our priority is to ensure staff have access to the necessary training and equipment. Additionally, team-building sessions and a staff welfare program will be introduced to boost morale,” Maraka stated.
During a meeting with the directorate’s staff to discuss performance improvement, Chief Officer Maraka emphasized the need for a complete operational overhaul to create a more efficient and effective team.
This comes at a time when the County expects the unit to jointly oversee security provision for the upcoming Tobong’ulore festivals, Lokiriama peace accord and other routine events.
He further noted that the County would utilize the Inspectorate Training College in Turkana North, Lokitaung along with other approved government training institutions, to support the upskilling of personnel.
Speaking on behalf of the unit, the Director of Inspectorate Services Samuel Lokaale welcomed the initiative saying that it was long overdue.
The Director confirmed the urgent need for morale boosting and staff welfare programs towards enhancing service delivery.
He further expressed optimism of the unit’s ability to effectively man the upcoming festival and provide services when called upon.
