A team of experts from the County Departments of Agriculture, Physical Planning, and Irrigation have commenced a preliminary survey at the Nasinyono Integrated Irrigation Project in preparation for a major upgrade of the project under the World Bank-funded Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program.
The experts are conducting a topographical analysis of the 340-acre farm, focusing on mapping the terrain, analyzing coordinates, and assessing the layout to optimize water distribution for the upcoming project.
This initial survey, funded by the County Government, is crucial in identifying challenges and informing the development of tender documents for the FLLoCA-funded upgrade.
Nasinyono Farm, known for its contribution to food security and livelihood diversification in the region, was one of the key projects identified by local residents for expansion and sustainability under FLLoCA.
Following the completion of the survey, the experts will present recommendations that would guide the design and implementation of the irrigation infrastructure.
This collaborative effort underscores the County Government’s commitment to integrated planning and climate-proofing initiatives for long-term community benefit.
The County experts included; Kevin Obota and James Kamarikori (Senior Surveyors), Samuel Oloo, Hillary Saina (Agricultural Engineers) and James Lopem (Turkana west Sub-county Agricultural Officer).
