CS ERIPETE URGES ADMINISTRATORS TO ENHANCE PEACE ALONG THE BORDERS

Lodwar,5th September 2024,(Public Communication and Media Relations).

The County Secretary Peter Eripete, has called on Sub-county administrators to promote peace to improve delivery of services for the residents living along the border areas.

The meeting was to strategize on ways to serve communities effectively, while maintaining peace along the shared borders.

During a meeting with Sub-county Administrators, he emphasized on the Governor’s 9-Point Agenda.

The CS urged officers to prioritize aligning all sub-county activities with the governor’s transformative agenda to government development is felt across board.

“We must work together to ensure we deliver services more effectively and efficiently to the people we serve. By focusing on the governor’s Agenda we can make a real difference in the lives of our community members.” Eripete remarked.

He reiterated on improved service delivery as it highlights the commitment of local government to make a positive impact on the community. By working together towards a common goal, we can ensure that the needs of the people are met and that services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.

CS Eripete, emphasized the importance of managing international peace affairs to promote development across borders.

“Peace among international communities is crucial for fostering economic growth and social progress.” The CS said.

He further highlighted the need for cooperation and soft diplomacy to ensure peace is maintained both within and between countries.

Additionally, County Chief Officer for Administration and Disaster Management, Maraka highlighted the importance of decentralized administration in bringing government services closer to the people.

He emphasized that this move would greatly improve service delivery.

“Decentralisation is key to ensuring that government services are accessible to all communities, regardless of their location. By bringing services closer to the people, we can better address their needs and provide them with the support they require.” CCO Maraka stated

CCO also stressed the significance of empowering local administrators to make decisions that directly impact their people.

“Decentralisation allows for greater autonomy at the grassroots level, enabling communities to have a say in the services they receive. This not only fosters a sense of ownership and accountability but also ensures that resources are allocated more efficiently.” he stated.

The meeting brought together field administrators together with Directors; Wasama Lokaale (Inspectorate), Simon Lokutan (Dep dir. public participation), Moses Nawoton (Dep director Disaster Management), Daniel Lobuin (Dep Director Administrative Services), Chris Losiru (Dep dir. inspectorate), and Shadrack Lolelea (Assistant Director Administrative Services).
