COUNTY, USAID NAWIRI TRAIN SENIOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ON ELECTRONIC COUNTY INTEGRATED MONITORING AND EVALUATION SYSTEM

Senior County Government officers, including chief officers and directors, attend a 3-day refresher training on electronic County Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System (e-CIMES) that is supported by the USAID Nawiri programme in partnership with the County Government.

This is following previous enhanced ECIMES trainings attended by senior county government officials and supported by the USAID NAWIRI programme.

The purpose of this training is to enhance efficiency in data management and reporting through training county officials in charge of decision-making on how they can utilize E-CIMES in tracking the implementation of ADPs and CIDP III.

These officers also gained knowledge on how to manipulate systems to generate information for effective decision-making.

This system provides a mechanism to track the implementation of projects and programs contained in the County Integrated Development Plans.

The Acting Director of Monitoring and Evaluation directorate, John Ekaru, also the county government lead in the training, believes the e-CIMES is a cutting-edge system designed towards enhancing accountability in government policies, projects, and programmes.

“The e-CIMES is intended cultivate the monitoring and evaluation culture within the county government by encouraging the use of quality information for decision making”.

On the other hand, the Systems and Strengthening Coordinator at USAID Nawiri programme, Josiah Rotino said, “the e-CIMES will enable the county to optimize resource allocation by identifying what works therefore improving the efficiency and effectiveness of key public investments”.

The County Chief Officers of Early Childhood Education and Social Protection, Paul Lodung’a, Medical Services, Dr Ezekiel Etelej, Preventive and Promotive, Cathra Abdi and thirty directors from several directorates were present at the training.
