The Turkana Urban Water Company (TUWASCO) has received a donation of five fully-equipped computer systems from the National Bank of Kenya (NBK) Lodwar Branch.
County Executive for Water Services, Patrick Losike Lokaimoe, expressed gratitude for NBK’s support. “Congratulations to the NBK team for this donation. As a County Government, we highly prioritize partnership ventures aimed at enhancing realization of improved water access in Turkana,” said Lokaimoe.
The donated computers will be installed at TUWASCO’s main office in Lodwar to enhance administrative functions, including customer care, billing, systems uploads, and accounts management.
TUWASCO’s Acting Managing Director expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing its impact on the company’s mandate. “The partnership with the National Bank of Kenya has empowered Turkana Urban Water Company to deliver on its mandate of providing clean water to all populations in our service areas,” said the Acting MD.
The MD hinted that the company will continue to seek partnerships to bridge existing gaps and enhance operational capacity.
TUWASCO is one of three companies recently established by the Turkana County Water Department to oversee water supply utilities and schemes. Alongside Turkana Rural Water Company and KALWASCO, these companies are part of a broader reform agenda aligned with the Turkana County Water Act of 2019.
The donation will also help TUWASCO meet licensing requirements from the Water Services Regulatory Authority (WASREB).
