Wiljustus Elim Lopeyok has assumed the role of County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, Sports, and Social Protection in Turkana County.

The handover ceremony, presided over by Deputy County Secretary Joseph Nyang’a, marked a transition aimed at bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to the sector.

The Deputy County Secretary emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and teamwork in delivering services. He also stressed the need for frequent engagement with the county assembly committee to ensure effective resource allocation.

The new CECM, previously the Director of Administration in the same ministry, is expected to build on the department’s achievements and address challenges in the education, sports, and social protection sectors.

Chief Officer for Sports and Vocational Training Centers, Leah Losiru, expressed support for the new CECM and pledged to collaborate to achieve the department’s goals.
