The County Government of Turkana has officially launched an induction program for 24 interns for the fiscal year 2024/2025 at its headquarters in Lodwar. The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Public Service, Administration, and Disaster Management, aims to equip the interns with essential knowledge and skills relevant to their roles within the county government.
During the induction, the interns will receive training on the structure of the county government, their specific responsibilities, labor relations, and occupational health and safety protocols. The program emphasizes the importance of professionalism and decorum in the workplace.
Dr. Apalia Anthony, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Public Service, welcomed the new interns and congratulated them on their selection for the program. He highlighted the significance of this opportunity, stating that it would provide the interns with valuable experience and expertise, enhancing their competitiveness in today’s fast-paced job market.
“The county government is committed to providing you with a conducive working environment to learn and improve your skills for career progression,” Dr. Apalia remarked.
County Chief Officer David Maraka also addressed the interns, urging them to uphold professionalism and ethical standards in their respective roles to ensure efficient service delivery to the residents of Turkana County.
The induction ceremony was attended by key officials from the ministry, including directors, human resource management and development officers, and office administrators, all of whom are dedicated to supporting the interns throughout their tenure.
