KALWASCO BOARD OF DIRECTORS RECRUITS SIGN ACCEPTANCE OFFER

The recently established company to oversee water supply in Kakuma, Kalobeyei, Letea and Lopur now has a functional Board of Directors.

The nominees to the position, through a rigorous recruitment process in accordance with the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB), accepted the offer, paving way for formal appointment by the CECM for Water Services Patrick Losike Lokaimoe.

David Namoru Peikan, Moit Sarah Comees, Truphena Ekasiron Ngisuru and Lucy Longor will now join the two chief officers for Water Services and Finance to form a seven-member board.

Once appointed, the team will undergo an intense one week of training on leadership and governance before embarking on the critical role to to ensure the company will be able to fulfil its mandate.

As one of the companies formed by the County Government in line with the Turkana County Water Act 2019 and corresponding national government legislations, the company is expected to streamline water provision in an area that has the host community and the refugees.

KALWASCO will also contribute to the Comprehensive Refugee Response Program (CRRP) goals currently under implementation through the Ushirika plan.
