In a bid to boost service delivery in Kakuma Municipality, the county government has inducted the Kakuma Municipality staff.
Speaking during the closure of the three-day induction, the CEC for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Areas Management, Faith Aletia said the move signals county government’s intent to streamline governance, improve management of urban areas and enhance quality of services to the public.
Noting that the Municipality staff played a significant role in addressing local challenges such as urban planning, waste management and enforcement of regulatory compliance, the CEC added that the training was designed to assist in elevating the Municipality as a model of public service.
“I have personally witnessed you being taken through the institutions management structure, staff policies and procedures manual, and culture sensitivity among others. I expect you to use the skills gained to better your capacity for service delivery,” CEC Aletia emphasised.
The Chair, Kakuma Municipality Board, Ebenyo Ewesit, added that the training was led by the Public Service Board.
The training comes at a time when Turkana is pursuing the implementation of “Ushirika Plan” that seeks to pave the way for further integration of both host and refugee related services.
