The County Government has concluded the induction of newly recruited security wardens and issued deployment letters assigning them to various work stations.
Speaking during the exercise, CECM for Public Service, Administration and Disaster Management, Patrick Losike Lokaimoe, said the move would strengthen the County’s capacity to safeguard its critical installations by tapping into the new human resource.
He urged the recruits to uphold professionalism and adhere strictly to government procedures.
“Congratulations for making it this far. You are now staff of the department. In your line of duty, always remember the guiding rules and principles you have learnt here today,” said Lokaimoe.
Chief Officer for Public Service and Administration, Marian Nakaale, advised the new wardens to seek guidance from experienced colleagues whenever faced with challenges.
“Whereas this training has equipped you with the basic knowledge of what it means to serve in government, you still have a duty to consult widely and observe what senior officers do at their stations. Such consultations will certainly help you grow into better public servants,” she noted.
The induction program included lectures and experience-sharing sessions on reporting structures, organizational outlook, human resource policies and procedures, the code of conduct and ethics, and performance expectations.
Clerks and administrative officers also benefitted from the training.
Speaking for the inductees, Jane Ekal, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, pledging to apply the knowledge gained in service of the County.
“I am very excited to join government service. This training has opened my eyes to the responsibilities ahead, and I promise to put into practice what I have learnt in serving the people,” she said.
The event was also attended by Director of Administration Chris Locheria, Director of Inspectorate Julius Lokaale, Assistant Director Thomson Ekai, Deputy Director Simon Lokutan, Principal Administrator Shadrack Lolea, and Philomena Lokulan.
