Department for Health and Sanitation welcomes two new Chief Officers

The Deputy County Secretary, Joseph Nyanga and the County Executive for Health and Sanitation, Dr Joseph Epem, witnessed the transition of two new chief officers at the Department for Health and Sanitation.

The incoming Chief Officer for Preventive and Promotive Health, Agnes Mana, takes over from Janerose Tioko, who has now moved to Partnerships. Mana has also handed over to the incoming Chief Officer, Dominic Emase, Specialized and Referral Health Services.

These changes follow the recent Executive Order by H.E. the governor to enhance service delivery.

Overseeing the handovers, the DCS Nyanga emphasized teamwork to foster collaboration toward achieving better health outcomes. He also appealed for continuous dialogue for sustainable transformation.

“Let us have togetherness towards the provision of the necessary healthcare services to the people. I also urge you to motivate healthcare workers operating in remote and hard to reach areas,” he said.

Dr Epem appreciated the outgoing chief officer for her dedicated efforts to enhance the prevention of diseases.

“As we are transitioning, let us shun differences, and wpro together to realise better health results through teamwork,” he mentioned.

CCO Tioko termed the transition as a necessary exercise, acknowledging county government strategy in establishing a service delivery pathway.

CCO Mana pointed out that LCRH is the backbone of health service delivery, and for sustainability, she echoed the need for cooperation in unifying health structures, including preventive and curative health.

CCO Emase underscored the focus on improving accountability and transparency in achieving result-oriented deliverables at LCRH.

Senior and junior officers from the various directorates within the department were present to witness the transition.
