The World Bank Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) Group, led by FCV Advisor Xavier Devictor, paid a courtesy visit to Kakuma Municipality Offices, where they were received by the Municipality Manager Peter Emuria.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the Shirika Plan and its recently updated implementation framework, which aims to address issues related to forced displacement while promoting sustainable development for both host communities and refugees.
Speaking during the meeting, Xavier Devictor noted that the FCV initiative seeks to enhance self-reliance and long-term stability between host communities and refugees through development-oriented programs and strategic partnerships.
Kakuma Municipality Manager Peter Emuria thanked the FCV team for the visit and for supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and development in the area.
He assured the team of the municipality’s commitment to work closely with the World Bank and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the Shirika Plan.
