The County Department of Roads has officially handed over the 10-kilometre Nawoiyaregae–Kaputir–Nakuse Road in Kaputir Ward, Turkana South Sub-County,

The project, funded by the County through the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF) marked a significant milestone in efforts to improve transport infrastructure and connectivity in the area.

While accompanying the departmental team, at the handover ceremony, Kaputir Ward MCA Hon. Michael Aemun underscored the strategic importance of the road, noting that it provides a critical transport link between the village units of Nawoiyaregae, Kaputir and Nakuse, while enhancing access to Kainuk town.

The completed road is expected to enhance mobility, reduce travel time, and provide residents with a safer and more reliable transport corridor, supporting livelihoods and strengthening links between communities.

Those present during the handover included Ward Administrator for Kaputir Ward, Cosmas Kibele, Road Surveyor Janet Bosibori, and Village Administrator for Kaputir Unit, Wiberforce Kamar.
