Lokori- 14th July, 2026 (Public Communication and Media Relations)

The Department of Roads has officially handed over the Lokori–Elelea Road to the contractor to begin maintenance works. .

The 30-kilometre road is being maintained under funding from the Road Maintenance and Levy Fund (RMLF). The works will involve grading, gravelling, and bush clearing to improve the condition of the road and make it easier for residents to travel.

The project will be supervised by Engineer Felix Nyongesa, who asked the contractor to begin work immediately.

He noted that some sections of the road have heavy overgrown bushes that will require extra effort during the bush clearing exercise. He also reminded the contractor to maintain quality standards and complete the works within the agreed timeframe.
