The Directorate of Trade, Weights, and Measures Department have undertaken a verification exercise in Turkana Central petrol stations to enforce fair trade practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance customer satisfaction
The inspection focused on evaluating fuel nozzle dispensing machines, verifying and calibrating petrol and diesel dispensing machines, and ensuring overall adherence to fair trade standards.
Director for Trade, Wilson Ejie, emphasized the importance of regular checks to maintain consumer confidence and uphold revenue collection procedures.
“We are committed to ensuring consistency in service quality and compliance with fundamental trade practices,” he stated.
According to Ejie, the primary objective of the Trade Department is to ensure that consumers receive services that provide the correct value for the cost incurred.
The team’s collaboration with business owners marks a positive step toward creating a conducive trading environment, ultimately boosting revenue collection in Turkana.
Present during the exercise were Weights and Measures Officers Livingston Ewoi and Zillah Mwaloyo, along with Revenue Officer Peter Kathoo.
