Nairobi, 28th November 2022 (Governor’s Press Service)– Deputy Governor Dr John Erus today officially opened a five-day induction for County Executive Committee Members from Turkana and Uasin Gishu counties.
The training taking place at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete, is meant to equip the CECMs with knowledge of government operations, functions and practices, as well as other information critical in the execution of their mandates.
In his remarks, the DG underscored the role of CECMs as critical in the governance of the County Government and insisted that their experience will contribute to the success of the development programmes.
He said: “I know most of you have worked in different sectors, which gives you great insights that will be valuable in your mandate to offer policy direction in your respective county departments.”
DG Erus delivered Governor Lomorukai’s message of commitment to support the CECMs and calls for diligence to support the county in successfully implementing the nine-point development agenda.
The DG expressed confidence that the training was tailored to satisfy the objectives of the induction.
“I have taken note of the topics for the induction and as you take part in discussions, I hope that these topics will form the basis of discussions and help improve service delivery,” the DG added.
He urged the CECMs to take their mandates seriously and wished them all the best.
All CECMs from Turkana County are attending the induction.
