James Wangiros has officially assumed office as the new County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade, Gender, and Tourism, taking over from outgoing CECM Roseline Aite who moved to finance and Economic planning on similar capacity.
The event was presided over by County Secretary, Amb. Dr. Richard Ekai, who urged departmental staff to embrace teamwork and uphold a culture of continuous consultations to ensure effective service delivery.
“As a department, we must foster unity and offer unwavering support to the new CECM,” said Amb. Dr. Ekai. “I urge all staff to embrace regular appraisals, constant communication and joint responsibility as we deliver on our mandate to the people of Turkana.”
Incoming CECM Wangiros expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, pledging to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor.
On her part, the outgoing CECM, Roseline Aite, lauded the staff for their dedication during her tenure and called on them to extend the same support to her successor.
“It has been a privilege working with such a dedicated team,” Said Aite. “I have full confidence in Wangiros’ leadership and urge all of you to support him in advancing the department’s goals.”
