The Turkana County Public Service Board (TCPSB) hosted a team from the North Rift Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officials (EACC) led by their new Regional Manager, Major (Rtd) Kuntai Ole Tingisha.
The visit aimed to promote integrity, helping the public access services fairly, this is in line with the County’s goal of open and honest governance.
TCPSB Chairperson Peter Ekunyuk Ingollan highlighted efforts to automate the recruitment process from the beginning to make it accessible and transparent to everyone.
“We are working on automating the whole recruitment process so that it can be accessed by everyone, even in different places, to make sure the process is transparent to the public,” he said.
This meeting comes as the board is preparing for the 2025 Declaration of Wealth exercise set to be conducted in November.
“We are committed to working with EACC to comply with its recommendations, building on policies like the Procedure on Prevention of Bribery and Corruption,” said Chair Ingollan.
Major (Rtd) Kuntai Ole Tingisha stressed the importance of a transparent system so that the public gets what is rightfully theirs, he also urged the Board to revise its Conflict of Interest Bill to align with the newly passed national legislation to strengthen anti-corruption efforts.
“TCPSB should review its Conflict of Interest Bill to match the new national bill for clear anti-corruption measures,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Joseph Ngatotin, Assistant Director for Human Resource Management and Simon Ipoo, Principal Administrator and a team from EACC North Rift office.
