178 new employed healthcare workers have now been deployed to respective workstations by the Department of Health and Sanitation Services towards reducing staffing gaps across the county health facilities.
The deployed team consists of medical officers, nurses, perioperative officers, morticians, clinical officers, pharmacists, medical social workers, biomedical engineers, orthopadiec trauma, radiographers, and community oral health officers.
The Medical Services Director, Dr Ekiru Kidalio, acknowledged the County Government’s efforts in reducing staffing gaps, describing it as a relief across the health department.
“We want to congratulate all of you on attaining these positions. Let us move forward as a team to serve the health needs of our communities,” he said.
The Director Health Products and Technologies, Dr David Emoru, called for professionalism and ethical considerations when the team provides services to the public.
“Work ethics are vital in establishing impactful value and trust with the communities you serve,” he said.
Rebecca Alimlim, the Director Administration, urged officers to observe the code of conduct and punctuality, emphasizing these are essential for achieving maximum service provision.
Director of Policy Planning, Coordination, Monitoring, and Evaluation, James Lobokan guided the team to familiarize themselves with Standard Operating Procedures for consistent, high-quality, and safe patient care.
“These will reduce errors, fostering better communication, facilitating efficient training, and maintaining regulatory compliance,” he added.
Human Resource Officer, Obed Ng’asike, reminded the team previously engaged under UHC to submit their letters of resignation before assuming their new assignment.
The newly deployed staff are expected to report to their respective Medical Officers of Health at the sub-counties.
In attendance were Director for Preventive and Promotive- Ismael Ekaran, Assistant Director Administration- Maurice Katiko, Acting Director Preventive and Promotive- Edete Lucas, Human Resource Officer- Simon Echara, Principal Administrator- Paul Ekron, HR Assistant- Jude Ng’ilimo, among others.
