Curtains Close on 9th Edition of Tobong’u Lore

The 9th Edition of the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival, Tobong’u Lore has come to a close. Governor Dr Jeremiah Lomorukai officially closed the festival after four days.

This year’s festival was themed “Cradle of Humanity, Home of Cultures: A Journey through Turkana,” “I am happy with what we have done in the To the delegation from across the region, you have shown us love and been with us,” he said.

President William Ruto was the Chief Guest and opened the festival on Tuesday. The Governor sent the delegation back with festive best wishes and assurance of continued cooperation.

He appreciated the support from MCAs in passage of legislation and policy. The Governor respect and peace during the festive season. Encouraged generosity and a spirit of sharing with whatever you have.

He urged parents to take care of their children during the holidays especially the girl child to ensure they don’t fall into mischief. He promised that he will visit different regions of the County this festive season to engage with residents during the holidays.

Deputy Governor Dr John Erus echoed the Governor’s message on generosity during the festive season and urged residents to adhere to safety in their travels and stay during the holiday season.

Leaders present included Woman Representative Cecilia Ng’itit, Turkana East MP Nicholas Ng’ikor and a host of MCAs.Senior County Government officials in attendance were led by County Secretary Dr Richard Ekai.
