The Food System Resilience Project (FSRP) has completed a two-day training program for 210 agripreneurs from across the county.

The training aims to modernize agriculture by equipping participants with knowledge of innovative agricultural technologies, quality inputs, market linkages, and access to information and financial services.

The agripreneurs are expected to provide bundled services to approximately 500 crop and livestock farmers at the ward level, enhancing local agricultural productivity and sustainability.

Victor Lochee, the County Project Coordinator highlighted the significance of the agripreneur model in addressing food insecurity and boosting local income. He emphasized the potential of agri-tech to foster sustainable agribusiness ventures.

“This approach not only supports farmers but also creates economic opportunities for the youth,” Lochee stated.

Prior to the training, Lochee conducted a verification of the agripreneurs’ documents, stressing the need for competent and qualified young agricultural professionals to deliver extension services in their respective wards.
He noted that these agripreneurs will collaborate closely with the county’s frontline extension officers to address staffing gaps in agricultural support.

The Director of Agriculture, Aaron Nanok encouraged the officers to prioritize self-development, skill enhancement, and economic growth.
