The County Government is making strides towards more inclusive and accountable governance with the validation of a workplan that focuses on institutionalizing coordination and improving collaboration between county actors and development partners.
The workplan, was jointly validated by the County Executive and County Assembly with support from VNG International under the Sustainable Development through Improved Local Governance (SDLG) program.
Mike Aupe, the Deputy Director for Resource Mobilisation, Partnerships and Donor Coordination lauded the workplan for providing a blueprint for interdepartmental collaboration, an input he described as means of eliminating duplication of efforts.
He stated that the communities targeted by services offered by the Government agencies and development partners will be the greatest winner upon full implementation of workplan in the current year.
Ekai Isaiah, Program Officer at VNG International said the validated workplan for the current year builds on lessons learnt in previous years and, focusses on strengthening systems in the new municipalities for community engagement.
Present were Ekai Nabenyo (Director, Office of the County Attorney), Isaach Eregae (Director ICT and E-Governance), Raphael Logum (Director, Resource Mobilisation, Partnerships and Donor Coordination), Phoebe Ekali (Director, Environment Services) and Ekwang Michael (Deputy Director, Monitoring and Evaluation) alongside a team of officials from the County Assembly.
