Kakuma Municipality, in collaboration with VNG International, held a Service Delivery Dialogue aimed at strengthening effective service provision and improving collaboration among key stakeholders.
The forum brought together county officials, municipal leadership, and development partners to deliberate on strategies for enhancing service delivery within Kakuma Municipality in line with legal and policy frameworks.
Kakuma Municipality Manager Peter Emuria stated that the dialogue will strengthen collaboration between the municipality and its partners, while ensuring residents continue receiving quality services.
Chief Officer for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Areas Management, Stenza Lomorukai, emphasized the importance of efficient service delivery across sectors, noting that quality service directly influences customer satisfaction, stakeholder trust, and institutional performance.
Hon. Patrick Esekon, Chairperson of the Lands Committee at the Turkana County Assembly, noted that the process will ensure services are delivered effectively, meet customer expectations, and align with agreed service standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
County Attorney Ruth Emanikor urged officers to execute their duties in accordance with the Urban Areas and Cities Act, which provides the legal framework for governance and management of urban areas.
Speaking on behalf of VNG International, Maria Eripete reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to working closely with Kakuma Municipality to improve service delivery, promote partner collaboration, and support sustainable urban development.
The dialogue is expected to enhance accountability, improve coordination among stakeholders, and contribute to better service delivery for residents of Kakuma Municipality.
