County Conducts Joint Inspection of Lodwar Municipality Beautification Project

The Department of Urban Areas and Municipalities, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works, has conducted a joint site inspection of the ongoing Phase I Lodwar Municipality Beautification Project.

The inspection, led by the Chief Officer Public Works, Winstone Ebei, assessed the progress of construction, quality of workmanship and compliance with approved project specifications at the Lodwar Prison Roundabout and other parts of the Town.

The project entails the beautification of the Lodwar Prison Roundabout, construction of five public shades with benches, tree planting and installation of protective tree guards.

With a six-month implementation period, the project now stands at 90 per cent completion.

The team directed the contractor to reinforce the metallic protective rings, strengthen the main wall shades and partitioning, improve the finishing works and expedite the installation of electricity to facilitate timely completion of the project.

The team further underscored the importance of adhering to the revised implementation schedule to ensure the project is completed and handed over within the agreed timelines.

Chief Officer Winstone Ebei directed the contractor to submit a formal commitment letter outlining a revised work plan, including clear timelines for practical completion and project handover.
