The recently appointed staff in the County Department of Public Service, Administration, and Disaster Management have been inducted today on performance and service delivery.
The staff who underwent work orientation included Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors Management, Deputy Directors of Administration, Assistant Director, Sub County, Deputy Sub-county, and Ward Administrators.
The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Public Service, Administration, and Disaster Management, James Wangiros said that the exercise was the first step towards the deployment of staff in line with the provisions of the Human Resource manual.
He stressed on need to understand the interconnectivity of their jobs and the need to embrace professionalism and teamwork to enhance service delivery to the the people.
The Chief Officer for Administration and Disaster Management, Derick Epae, told the staff to prioritize service delivery in their offices lest members of the public always raise complaints at times when they have not been well served.
He told them to be at the front line and stay focused to help the Government achieve the Governor’s Nine-Point Development Agenda.
On the other hand, Chief Cecilia Majuma said that as public servants, they are required to serve the public with integrity and dignity.
She reinstated the core mandates for the Public Service Department and asked the new employees to continuously orient themselves with the values and principles and interact with essential documents in regard to Public Service.
