COUNTY, IRC JOINT SUPERVISION OFFER INSIGHTS INTO STRENGTHENING OUTREACHES

The Department of Health and Sanitation and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) concluded a two-week joint supervision that sought to identify gaps in the integrated outreaches.
The joint team, which assessed the USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance funded emergency response through IRC, conducted the exercise in selected integrated outreach sites, and their linked health facilities in Turkana South, Turkana West, and Loima Sub-counties.
The supervision also aimed to verify whether the required basic standards were implemented in the integrated outreaches; which offer nutritional and outpatient services.
One of the areas the teams emphasized, was the importance of data as it would be entered into the Kenya Health Information System (KHIS) to track the county’s performance of the key indicators.
The project also included WASH, Protection, Food Assistance, and agriculture-integrated services.
