The Directorate of Health Products and Technologies (HPT) held a two-day stakeholders’ meeting to develop new strategies that will enhance healthcare services, with the support of a robust supply chain of essential medicines and supplies.

The stakeholder’s meeting was to co-create the HPT Directorate’s annual work plan by identifying areas of collaboration to strengthen the supply chain management.

They also discussed the co-implementation and promotion of the integration of planned activities for optimal achievements of better outcomes.

“Health commodities’ demand comes from our patients for they are our clients. To hold meetings that advocate for pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals in the county, is a step in the right direction,” said Dr Gilchrist Lokoel, the County Chief Officer for Medical Services.

He acknowledged the effort of the partners, saying it was in line with the Governor’s Agenda that encourages strategic and mutually beneficial partnerships. The partnerships will help achieve accessibility, availability, and quality health products guided by UHC parameters.

The Deputy Director for HPT, Dr David Moru said that one of the objectives of the meeting was to rally supply chain partners to commit their resources to the implementation of planned activities for the current financial year.

The meeting participants included HPT officers, County Health Management (CHMT), and partner representatives from ADRA Kenya, USAID Imarisha Jamii, International Rescue Committee, USAID Nawiri, and the Diocese of Lodwar.
